Deacon Emeritus Isiah Toomer, Sr.

Mr.  Isiah Toomer, Sr. 90 years old of Wagon Branch Community in Tillman, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2023, at his residence.  

At an early age he attended the public schools of Jasper County.  Mr. Toomer was a member of Saint Matthew Baptist Church in Tillman, South Carolina. He served the Lord and being a faithful member, Mr. Toomer was called to be appointed as Deacon Emeritus of Saint Matthew Baptist Church.

Mr. Toomer attend Savannah Area Vocational Technical School, where he received a certificate as being a masonry, this is what started him in a career as a general contractor.

Deacon Toomer leaves to cherish his memories and love for his family; Mrs. Ollie Mae Toomer, their children; Kenneth (Patricia) Toomer, Sr., Englenette Frost, Isiah Toomer, Jr., Anthony (Catherine) Toomer, MD, Dexter (Rosalind) Toomer, Shavanda Toomer and Frederick (Shalonda) Toomer, Thirteen Grandchildren, Eleven Great Grandchildren, his brothers; George (Emma) Toomer, Samuel Toomer and  Ulysses Toomer, his sisters; Bertha Washington and Thelma Lewis, his sisters and brothers in law; Rhumella Patterson, Daisy Goodwin, Cynthia Singleton, Sydney Burrison and Johnny Burrison. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Walk-Thru will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Bostick Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina from 5-7 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Mount Carmel Baptist Center in Ridgeland, South Carolina at 11:00 AM.

Burial will take place at Richardson Memorial Cemetery in Tillman, South Carolina.

Always remember to wear a mask, you protect others as well as yourself, mask works best when everyone wears one. A mask is not a substitute for social distancing, masks should be worn in addition to staying 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who do not live in your household.
