Mrs. Hassie Mae W. Hutson, 83 years old formerly of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in New Jersey. She was educated in the public schools of Jasper County, where she was active in her school community as a member of the Glee Club and the Girls’ Basketball team. Mrs. Hutson graduated in 1957, and then relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey, where she started on the journey of adulthood.
In 1959, Mrs.Hassie Mae married Mr. James Harold Hutson, the love of her life; to this union 3 girls were born. Because of her kind and compassionate nature, she was drawn to the field of Health Care, and spent over 28 years of her life working at Saint Mary’s Hospital in the Pediatric Unit comforting infants and teenagers.
Mrs. Hutson was a faithful and dedicated member of the United House of Prayer for All People. She strongly believed in the words of our past and present leader(s) Bishop C.M. (Sweet Daddy) Bailey, that” NONE BUT THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL SEE GOD” and she lived that way. Mrs. Hutson knew that just joining a place of worship was not enough; she knew that she had to “be born again.”
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 62 years Mr. James Harold Hutson, three daughters; Carmella A. Hutson, Felicia (Girard) Glenn and Dr. Trisha O. (Apos. C.D.) Baptist, Nine grandchildren, two sisters in law; Eliza Wright and Pauline D. Hutson, two brothers in law; Samuel R. Foster and Curtis Hutson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at United House of Prayer in Tillman, South Carolina from 11:00am-12:00Noon.
Funeral Service will begin immediately following visitation at 12:00 Noon at United House of Prayer in Tillman, South Carolina.
Burial will take place at the church cemetery
