Mr. Beckett N Jenkins

Mr. Beckett N. Jenkins, 103 years old a native of Robertville South Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the home of his eldest son in Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Jenkins was born into slavery on the Lawton Plantation back in 1963. He was educated locally in Robertville  and  Penn Normal Industrial along with Agricultural School in Frogmore, South Carolina. Mr. Jenkins was drafted into the United States Army in 1941 during World War II.

In 1951, Mr. Jenkins met and married the late Mrs. Mable Janet Browne, they enjoyed 55 years in marriage. He enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting in his spare time.

Fond memories will be treasured by his family; Three children; Vera Jenkins, Harold Jenkins and Oliver (Sherry-Ann) Jenkins, Two grandchildren; Bradley and Lauren Jenkins, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Walk-Thru will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Bostick Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina from 5-7 PM

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Mount Zion AME Church Cemetery in Garnett, South Carolina at 11:00 AM

 WHEN YOU WEAR A MASK, YOU PROTECT OTHERS AS WELL AS YOURSELF. MASKS WORK BEST WHEN EVERYONE WEARS ONE. A MASK IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING. MASKS SHOULD BE WORN IN ADDITION TO STAYING AT LEAST 6 FEET APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN INDOORS AROUND PEOPLE WHO DO NOT LIVE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD.
