Mr. Butler Buck Goodwin, Jr., 80 years old of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, April 09, 2025, at his residence with his loving wife.
Mr. Goodwin attended Boys High School in Brooklyn, New York and Jasper High School in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
In 1961, Mr. Goodwin moved to New York City, searching for better opportunities for a good career for himself, and he found it by being an enthusiastic butcher. He went and received his certification for the state of New York and landed a career with Straussberg Meat Company until retirement.
He was always a talkative and outgoing man, he had enjoyed getting to know people he never met and loving keeping up with his family.
Mr. Goodwin was cherished by his loving and devoted wife; Paulette Williams-Goodwin, his children; Anthony (Andrea) Goodwin, Sharon Goodwin and Daryl Goodwin, Two loving step children; Samuel Richards and Mary Richards, A daughter in law; Jacqueline Goodwin, Three grandchildren and ten step-grandchildren, One great grandson, A loving sister; Emmly Dinkins, His mother in law; Sarah Good, Four sisters in law; Sidney Burrison, Ollie Mae Toomer, Cynthia Singleton and Marion (Freddie) Holloman, Two brothers in law; Johnnie Burrison and Herman (Sandra) Cole, Jr., Two aunts; Sadie Drayton and Doneza Drayton, One uncle in law; James Cornwell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved.
A Walk-Thru will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Bostick Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina from 5-7 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Saint John AME Church at 2740 Tillman Road in Ridgeland, South Carolina 29936 at 11:00 AM.
Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
Always remember to wear a mask, to protect others as well as yourself, mask works best when everyone wears one. A mask is not a substitute for social distancing, masks should be worn in addition to staying 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who do not live in your household.
