Mr. Gene A. Mouzon

Mr. Gene A. Mouzon, 85 years old of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Hilton Head Hospital in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Mr. Mouzon was educated in Ridgeland, South Carolina. After graduating from Jasper High School, he enlisted in the United States Army for several years.

He was a member of Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, South Carolina, where he enjoyed Sunday School, learning more about his walk in faith with Jesus Christ.

Mr. Mouzon made a career as a railroad worker for over 23 years. He had an all-around sense of humor about himself, he enjoyed making others laugh out loud, that made him a special kind of guy.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a stepdaughter; Ada Diggs, five sisters; Ruby G. Mouzon, Alberta M. Atwater, Margaret J. Mouzon, Cynthia E. Mouzon, and Constance B. Mouzon, one sister in law; Eva Brown, one brother in law; Benjamin Coney, fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five special step grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A Walk-Thru will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Bostick Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina from 5-7 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Saint John AME Church in Ridgeland, South Carolina at 11:00 AM.

Burial will take place at the church.

Always remember to wear a mask, to protect others as well as yourself, mask works best when everyone wears one. A mask is not a substitute for social distancing, masks should be worn in addition to staying 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who do not live in your household.
