Mrs. Elizabeth E. Horton Garvin, 87 years old of Gillisonville Community in Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 03, 2021 at her residence.
At an early age she accepted Christ. She became a member of Padgett Branch Baptist Church, where she served as the Charity Board and was a former Sunday school teacher also a coordinator planner for several of her church activities. In the early 1970’s, she served on the Jasper County Department of Social Services Board and was a Chairperson.
Mrs. Garvin was an educator for Jasper County School District for many years. She was owner and stylist of Garvin’s Beauty Nook in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
Mrs. Garvin’s memories will be cherished by her loving family; three sons; Millard (Diane) Garvin, Bernard Garvin and Everett (Robyn) Seymoure, Three devoted and loving sisters; Mrs. Eva H. Wood, Mrs. Mildred and Mrs. Ponsetta Horton, One brother; Mr. Moses Aram (Dorcas Thabitta) Israel, Three brothers in law; Marion Garvin, Charles (Rachel) Garvin and Roger (Lavern) Garvin, Ten Grandchildren, Seventeen Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Remember to wear a mask, you protect others as well as yourself, masks works best when everyone wears one. A mask is not a substitute for social distancing, masks should be worn in addition to staying at least 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who do not live in your household!
