Ms. Irma Louise Baker, 81 years old of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 03, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina, surrounded with her loving family.
Ms. Baker received her education through Jasper County Schools in Ridgeland, South Carolina. After graduation of high school, Ms. Baker went on to further education at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina.
Ms. Baker journeyed to a career in public education for over 30 years, she taught at several schools, naming a couple, at Bethune Cookman Elementary School and Inglewood High School in Los Angeles, California until she retired. Her loved for education had a long-lasting effect on her students, who had always wanted to succeed throughout their young lives and to always try harder no matter the task ahead of them.
She leaves behind to cherish her love; her daughter; Sivi M. (Reginald) B. Parson, One son; Solomon Banks, III, Four grandchildren and One great grandson, Two sisters; Mildred Laurel and Edna Baker, One brother; Samuel Baker. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 01, 2024, at Bostick Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina, at 11:00 AM.
Burial will take place at Grahamville Cemetery in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
Always remember to wear a mask, to protect others as well as yourself, mask works best when everyone wears one. A mask is not a substitute for social distancing, masks should be worn in addition to staying 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who do not live in your household.
