Mrs. Jessie Baker Laurel

Mrs. Jessie Baker Laurel, 85 years old of Ridgeland, South Carolina born and raised, lived in Virginia, passed away in March of 2021. Mrs. Laurel was a graduated of Jasper County High School in Ridgeland, South Carolina. After graduation of college Mrs. Jessie and Mr. Randolph Laurel married and moved away to New York.

She worked until retirement for the state of New York, then they relocated to Virginia. She was always in close touch with her family no matter where she was. After Mr. Randolph’s passing in 2018 she was surrounded by a close relationship with her neighbors and friends who were always ready to be of assistance and supportive. Mrs. Jessie was a faithful member of New Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter; Leslie and her son; Rashawn, a granddaughter and a grandson, her siblings; Mildred, Edna, Irma, Eva, Harry and Samuel Baker, her brother in law; Lorenzer Laurel along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, 12:00Noon at Bostick Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Burial will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
